(MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ) -- Ocean City Republicans today announced that they are united in their support of Bret Schundler and his Property Tax Reform Agenda. The list of Ocean City Republicans includes current and former officer holders, members of the Ocean City business community and the Ocean City Republican Municipal Committee.

"Bret Schundler has the only truly permanent plan to reduce property taxes," said Ocean City Mayor Bud Knight. "I am excited about the candidacy of Bret Schundler because I feel his experience as Mayor of Jersey City makes him understand the challenges of City government, and right now our greatest challenge is dealing with property taxes."

"We are struggling at the local level to maintain services and keep our tax rate down, but the massive cuts in state aid we received during the McGreevey Administration are hurting us," said Ocean City Council President Larry Carnuccio. "Bret's Permanent Property Tax Reduction Amendments would force the state to return a fair share of our property tax dollars back to our community."

"I have been impressed with Bret Schundler's ability to reach across party lines and gain support for his amendments to reduce property taxes," said Councilman Greg Johnson, referring to the bipartisan co-sponsorship of the legislation in the Assembly. "I have met with Bret personally, and while I trust him to do what he promises, the best feature of these proposed amendments is that New Jerseyans don"t have to trust politicians -- politicians will be constitutionally required to keep spending below a set cap."

These personal endorsements are joined by Ocean City GOP Chairman Frank McCall, who said he is sure Schundler is the right choice for Ocean City, and the Ocean City Municipal Committee.
