North Wildwood & Stone Harbor Republicans Endorse Schundler

(MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ) -- Last night in Cape May, North Wildwood and Stone Harbor Republican leaders announced their support of Bret Schundler and his Property Tax Reform Agenda. The list of Stone Harbor and North Wildwood Republicans includes current officer holders, members of the Republican Municipal Committee, and candidates on the Cape May Republican Organization Line.

"Bret Schundler has a plan that will provide a permanent property tax cut for the residents of North Wildwood and the rest of New Jersey," said North Wildwood Council President Patrick Rosenello. "I know that Bret Schundler understands the challenges facing municipal government, because -- as the former Mayor of Jersey City -- he had to deal with the same issues we are dealing with: property taxes."

"Bret Schundler's service as Mayor of Jersey City has provided him with real world experience in the area of municipal government," said Stone Harbor Mayor Suzanne Walters. "Bret appreciates the burden that local property taxes can place on residents, and he is committed to reforming State Government to take some of that burden off of local residents. For that alone he deserves our support."

"The massive cuts in state aid we suffered under during the McGreevey administration are making it harder and harder to provide the same level of services our residents expect and deserve, while maintaining a stable local property tax rate," said North Wildwood Councilman Edwin Koehler. "Bret's Permanent Property Tax Reduction Amendments will guarantee that a fair share of revenue is passed along to the local municipal government to help keep property taxes in check."

"Bret Schundler has shown an ability to reach across party lines to accomplish what needs to be done," said Councilman Walt Larcombe. "During his time as Mayor of Jersey City and through the efforts he has shown with his Permanent Property Tax Reduction Amendments, it is obvious that Bret Schundler knows how to accomplish what sets out to do."

North Wildwood Republican Municipal Chairman Timothy O"Leary and Assistant Chair Robert Maschio have also endorsed Schundler.
